I sneak snacks into the movie theatre…

(I know I am not the only one!)

or maybe where you live theater prices aren’t outrageous? How much does it cost you to see a movie? The average ticket price near me is about $9.50 to $10. Seriously. So we have to save somewhere, and I save by sneaking in (purse friendly) snacks.
HARRY POTTER IS TONIGHT.
(Sorry, I just needed to get it out!)

It is a tradition of mine to go see the midnight showing, or pick up the book at a midnight release party. There are no more books (sigh) but there are 3 more movies! (This one and the 7th book is being turned into a two part movie, YES!!!)

We all know Harry Potter is the best book series ever, so lets get back to the Peanut Butter Chip Brownies. That’s right, brownies.

Brownies are easy to throw in a zip loc baggy, and easy to snack on, which makes this the perfect treat to sneak into the movies!

These brownies are great. The flavor is so rich and deep, while the peanut butter chips make the brownie a little ‘different’. Peanut butter chips taste different than peanut butter… almost like a mix between butterscotch chips and peanut butter. The peanut butter chips could also be replaced with chocolate chips to make the ultimate chocolate brownie. Yum!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownies
adapted from The Repressed Pastry Chef

preheat oven to 400 degrees

2 Eggs
1/2 cup Sugar
1/4 cup Brown Sugar

1 tsp Vanilla (I used vanilla bean paste)
1/2 cup Butter, Melted
3/4 cup Cocoa Powder (I used Hershey’s dark cocoa)
2/3 cup AP Flour
1/4 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup Peanut Butter chips

1. Whisk together eggs, sugars and vanilla. Mix well and set aside.
2. Whisk together all dry ingredients, excluding the chips. Set aside.
3. Add melted butter to the wet mixture, combine fully before adding the dry ingredients. Combine fully and fold in peanut butter chips.
4. Spread into prepared 8×8 inch baking pan. Bake for 25 minutes.
5. Cool completely before cutting.

OMG! The brownies look amazing and seriously, you are so funny!! I alway's sneak in food, LOL!! My friend was at the theater about a month ago with her daughter. She went up to order a bottled water. Her daughter quckly reminded her in a LOUD voice and said, "Mommy, we don't need that, we have juices in your purse!" LOL!

Looking forward to reading more of your posts!

What a brilliant idea! I always bake, and way too much, and I go to the movies a lot. Why haven't I thought of combining these two activities? I will now! No more overpriced candy for me! :)

And the brownies look really yummi!
I love the good old chocolate & peanut combo…
