Kyle and I went to the Farmers Market Sunday afternoon to score some produce deals. (I’m not sure how your farmers market work) but Sunday afternoon is a good time of the day to go in Dallas. The crowd is small so the prices are low. (But boy is it hot!)
There is a Tex-Mex restaurant right by the Farmers Market that has been there since I can remember. I’ve never been, so when a friend suggested we go for lunch Sunday and we were already right there buying veggies, well how could we say no?

Chips and Salsa, duh! The chips were warm, crispy and greasy (that’s the best!) and the salsa was cold and crisp. The salsa came in a chilled vessel so that you could refill as you please.
Kyle got the Chile Relleno lunch special and also a Barbacoa Taco on the side. The chile relleno (beef/cheese filled poblano pepper, battered and fried) was great, and the batter stayed nice and crispy.
I ordered two burritos, one bean and one chicken with rice on the side. The burritos were tasty, especially with the side order of guacamole I got. The chicken was flavorful and mixed with peppers and onions.
As you leave the restaurant, Dallas greets you.
