Natalie's Killer Cuisine

Beware, this recipe is for major chocoholics.

You can’t have one of these Triple Chocolate Cookies without a large glass of cold milk, and that is why these cookies bring such a big, silly grin to my face. No one ever gets grumpy when it comes to cookies and milk. Give someone cough syrup? Yuck. Prune Juice? No thank you. But freshly baked cookies and cold milk, now thats something everyone will smile at. Even Santa, which is probably why we leave him cookies and milk.

These cookies have ‘triple’ the chocolate, but one of the chocolate sources may surprise you.

A few months back I made Chocolate Chip Puddin’ Cookies and they were delicious. The pudding mix makes a huge difference (though don’t ask me what exactly is in pudding mix) but it makes the cookies soft and delectable for days. And when the cookies are warm, I swear you can taste pudding in the warm, gooey center.

I was craving some chocolate earlier always, and decided to make double chocolate cookies. But when I was going through my pantry I saw a chocolate pudding pack, and decided to take it up a chocolate notch.

Triple Chocolate Cookies
yield: 28 – 32 cookies depending on size

1 cup Butter (2 sticks), softened
3/4 cup Brown Sugar
1/4 cup Sugar
2 Eggs
1 tsp Vanilla, optional
2 1/4 cups AP Flour
1 Chocolate Pudding (3.4oz) Mix, (or any flavor)
1 tsp Baking Soda
1 tsp Cocoa Powder
1 tsp Salt
1 cup Chocolate Chips

preheat oven to 350 degrees

1. Cream the butter and sugars together, about three minutes. Next add the eggs (one at a time) and the vanilla if using.
2. In a separate bowl combine the flour, dry pudding mix, baking soda, cocoa powder and salt. Add to the wet mixture and mix until combined.
3. Add the chocolate chips and combine again.
4. Prepare your baking sheet with either pan spray or parchment paper. Scoop out tablespoon sized scoops and roll in a ball, having at least 1.5 inch space between each cookie.
5. Bake 8 minutes and remove from the oven. Let cool on the baking sheet 2 minutes before moving to a cooling rack.

These triple chocolate cookies are fantastic and one alone satisfied my chocolate craving for hours. They are rich, sweet, gooey and delicious. Yes, I do get chocolate cravings every few hours… I know I am not alone in this.

These look heavenly. I don’t have access to American-style pudding mix, do you have any modifying suggestions?

    Oh. My. God.

This is next on my list of amazing chocolate chip cookie recipes. Might do it with chopped bittersweet chunks though.

Is that instant or cooked pudding mix? Does it matter? I can’t wait to make these for my often grouchy husband!
    Great job on the website!

I have used instant and cooked pudding mix, and both will work fine!

When I was like 7 years old I was addicted to cough syrup, just because it was sweet /I really don’t know how could I have been drinking it/, but now can I have a cookie pls :)

Love the pudding mix in your dough….you’re such a smart cookie.

I’m so glad I stumbled upon this blog post. Just yesterday I made chocolate chip cookies using chocolate pudding mix instead of the vanilla mix I usually use.

I thought they came out a little harder than usual but I was probably an oaf and baked them a little too long. ;)

Anyways, great post! Glad to see people are sharing the awesome power of pudding mix in cookies!

PS: I’m almost sure that it’s the corn starch and hydroscopic sugars in pudding mix that leave it moist.

Oh also… have you ever tried adding Dark Chocolate Extract in addition to vanilla. I find it gives all my chocolate recipes a little extra “Chocolatey Zing” :-)

I don’t know what it is about putting pudding in the cookie dough, either, but it is awesome!

Dark Chocolate Extract? I’ve never heard of that. I need to get my hands on some, now!

Triple the chocolate is a great idea and I bet the pudding helps them stay moist.

I made the cookie dough the night before I baked them. I made 27 golf ball sized balls and baked them. They became about 2″ diameter cookies that were large and soft. People at the party liked them. I think it would have been better if they were smaller. Thanks for the recipe. ~Michelle

I stumbled upon this website and found this recipe. Many people have commented on how good they look, but not enough have commented on how DELICIOUS they are!! These are easily the best cookies I’ve ever made, and I bake twice a week! If you are on the fence, MAKE THEM!
