So last week I didn’t have many pictures to share since it was so hot outside. And this week I don’t have many pictures to share because it has been raining all week. All week! But don’t get me wrong, I am loving it. Rain means no hundred degree days, and I just long for 90 degree days in the summer. Yes, it is extremely humid in the morning, but my hair is already Kirstie-Alley-circa-1980s huge so I don’t mind it.

Rain clouds. I love the rain and I love the cloudy weather, however I hate when thunder and lightning come along for the ride. It’s not so much me that hates the thunder, but Holly my dog. She gets scared and hides in the bathroom, usually shaking. I know some people give their dogs xanax during a storm, but I think that is freakin’ nuts. Eventually she will get over it. I make sure not to baby her or really acknowledge her during the storm since that only justifies her fear. She is not as bad as she was a year ago, so I hope a year from now she could care less about a storm. I hope…

The rain and cloudy weather mean that the pools are empty. Which means that it is quiet for once outside.

I went to see my Mom this week and I took a box of cereal from her.
Kyle (and I shamefully) finished it in record time.

Look what I did!

Joy came over on Thursday… AND WE MADE MACARONS. Strawberry shells and peanut butter filling which created a light and airy PB & J macaron. I have attempted to make macarons only once before and they were an epic fail. But I must disclose that only 5 macarons were made out of close to 60 shells we made. The reason being my faulty oven, and I will also blame the humidity outside. Since then I have successfully made another batch of macarons and will be sharing the recipe with you in the coming days!

And lastly, I must show you a cake I made this week. An amazing, delectable, rich, tart, could-solve-wars, moist cake. The cake is chocolate with blackberries added, which end up melting away into the cake. A rich dark chocolate butter cream. And topped with stewed Blackberries. Gone in two days.
