This week’s Saturday Stills have gone Gaga!
If you noticed I didn’t blog much this week. I am sorry about that. With work, school, life and the Lady Gaga concert this week, I was incredibly busy. However the concert was all I could think about. I have been anticipating it for what feels like 6 months now. My friend Mitchell and I purchased tickets the second they went on sale, which was a lucky second because it sold out in minutes, if that. We purchased floor tickets rather than actual seats mainly because of the major price difference, so I really had no idea what to expect as far as where I would be standing and how far away. Floor tickets are ones in which you don’t have an actual seat, but instead you are one of those crazy people pressed against the stage and jumping the entire time, and obviously it is first come first serve. The show started at 8pm and some people were lining up as early as 7am. When I heard that I thought I was screwed since I wasn’t even out of school until 4pm. We ended up getting there around 6pm, and got in the huge line.

The line was long but I wasn’t too worried. The American Airlines center is massive so I knew my spot in line wasn’t going to automatically mean I was going to be behind everyone. So with an hour until doors open and two hours until the show, we got to know theĀ little monsters around us.

How cute are these little monsters? Looking hot ladies!

Loving the glasses!

Kind of fierce….

I mean… totally fierce!!

Semi Precious Weapons opened the show, and they were awesome! They were loud, fun, and knew we were there to see Gaga. They didn’t spend long on stage but their 20 minutes included him stripping down, changing clothes, throwing out gifts, drinking champagne, spitting champagne on us all, and ended with the guitar player doing a crowd dive. All in all, awesome opening act.

But then… they left the stage and we knew what was to come. GAGA.

LOOK. LOOK HOW CLOSE I AM TO LADY GAGA. LOOK, SHES REAL. I was in disbelief. I mean, how did we manage to get to the front? When I say I was in the front, I mean I was literally in the very front, pressed against the fence that seperated the stage and the crowd. She was less than 10 feet away from me. I wanted to cry. Okay… I did cry at one point. Let’s not go there.

May be blurry, but this is one of my favorite pictures I took. It was happening so fast. Also, I used a Lumix point and shoot camera since I obviously wasn’t going to bring my DSLR. It took some getting used to (I kept bringing the camera up to my eye) but I got some great shots with it! I did edit the pictures.

She looks great in person! Gives off so much energy for such a small lil’ thing.

The dancers. This was during Alejandro. They were awesome and I want their bodies.

Oh and trust me, I know a lot of you reading aren’t Lady Gaga fans. I get it. But please don’t comment calling her names or saying you think shes a man in drag. That upsets me. She is so freaking talented and if you listen to the music without even seeing her, you would agree. But since she dresses or sometimes acts in a way SOME people don’t understand, they decide to call her names. Well, thats everything Lady Gaga stands against and she probably wouldn’t want you as a little monster anyways. She stands for acceptance and she made it very clear by saying in the show ‘Don’t leave here loving me anymore, leave here loving yourself more’.

Mitchell ended up not being able to join me, Shevonne gladly took his spot!

She sang Speechless on the piano and her new unreleased song You and I. If you haven’t heard You and I, click here. It’s a beautiful rock n’ roll ballad. Click and listen even if you aren’t a fan. The clip is from The Today Show. Just wait until the end at the 5:00 mark when she breaks it down on the piano!

Put your paws up!

Paws up, little monsters!
