The theme of this week’s Saturday Stills is failure.
All the pictures featured in this post were meant to be shared with you, but for some reason or another they turned into big fat failures. Some tasted weird, some looked weird, and some were plated weird. But from every mistake I always try to learn a lesson, as I did with all the dishes below.

A Chopped Cobb Salad…. and a bird. It makes no sense. I couldn’t post these pictures no matter how great the salad was, just because I found the pictures so silly. The plate is too pretty to be wasted on a salad slathered in bacon, corn, boiled egg and ranch. Next time I will take an extra minute or two to grab plates that actually make sense. No matter how much of a hurry I am in to eat!

This is an Upside Down Berry Cake. If you notice, it has no top. I tried to salvage it by adding a piece to a bowl of ice cream but it still looked like a topless cake. What can I say, I was antsy to try the cake! I flipped it over too soon while it was still warm, and the top stuck to the pan. Lesson learned!

Island Chicken. I don’t know, something about this plate just seemed unattractive to me. Yellow Corn, yellow in the salsa, off white plate, off white chicken, just too beige for me.

Kyle made this for me when my teeth were hurting a few weeks ago since I needed to eat soft meals. All I see when I look at this is cabbage. It was a nice, crunchy little garnish but somewhat fell before taking the picture, and is now a big distraction on top.
Lesson learned? Well… don’t take pictures when sick and not paying attention!

Cherry Coconut Bars. Good idea, good flavor, weird texture. It happens.
Mistakes happen. Lessons learned!
