I’m currently doing what I have been doing non stop over the past few weeks. That’s sitting in front of my computer, drinking coffee with cream, listening to music (currently Queen – We Will Rock You, but you never know what song will come on next..) and editing images in photoshop.

Don’t get me wrong, this is my idea of a good time. Read More | Comments

    Pears - photopaintings - 150

For most of my life I haven’t had any sort of interest in art.

The art I am referring to is not the performance art Lady Gaga displays on stage, the kind of art Banksy sprays on the side of a building, or the kind of art someone is creating out of garbage and old Stop signs. The kind of art I am referring to is the paintings and sculptures from the masters of previous eras.  Read More | Comments

I am alive. I am well. I am more than well!

As you may know, or not know, I haven’t blogged since May of this year. Four months. I remember looking at one of my favorite food blogs once and wondering ‘why haven’t they posted?’ After a week, then two weeks, then a month went by, and before you knew it I was going back for some of my favorite recipes, being greeted with a blog post published a year prior. I always wondered what happened to some of those people, but I never emailed. I bet that has happened to a few people that have stumbled upon my site wondering where I am, and I have received a few emails. To those that emailed me, thank  you, I appreciate you, I am alive, well, and more than well! Read More | Comments

    Taylor-Painted Ladies 150

I have been working on a project the past two weeks that I have unofficially dubbed ‘The Painted Ladies‘. Messes have been made, clothes have been stained, but beautiful images have been created.

I received an assignment two weeks ago and it was simply to ‘create an 8 picture fine art series’ and this was also considered my final in my portraiture class. Doesn’t my school sound fun? Read More | Comments

I am in a portrait photography class in school, so I have been stepping out of my comfort zone and photographing plenty of people. I really enjoy it,  but I think what I enjoy most is finding people to photograph. I know some people feel awkward when I ask them if they would mind modeling for me (especially the first time). But, if I can give them a beautiful picture in return, then hopefully they become more comfortable with being photographed (and with themselves). These are just a few different assignments I have had recently in school, more to come soon!  Read More | Comments

    MiaMullins - 150

I told you a few weeks ago you would probably start to see some portraits on here, and here is the first set (of many to come!) My first assignment in my portrait photography class was Gap Ads, but more specifically, black and white gap ads. Black and White Gap ads have a specific look to them, and you can see some examples here. I took pictures of my friend Mia, and I am happy with how they came out. Read More | Comments

    Abandoned Red - 150

One final down, three more to go. Not that I have to take any actual tests, but I sure do have a lot of pictures to print and present. After that, three weeks off! I am going to cook up a storm.

Here are some pictures from my Abandoned project, taken for a Contemporary Issues in Photography class. Read More | Comments

Two more weeks! This school quarter has kicked my butt, but I say that in both a positive and negative way.

The negative way meaning I have had no free time, no life, no friends. The positive being I am more inspired than I have ever been, and think I am starting to find my style. Read More | Comments

    Thanksgiving - 150

I hope those you celebrate had a fantastic Thanksgiving. I sure did.

Kyle and I are still full and this cold weather is making me want to hibernate! This happened to be our fifth Thanksgiving together, and every year we have had three stops. So basically we have had 15 Thanksgiving meals together! Read More | Comments

    Farmers Market - 150 px

This past week my photojournalism class met at the Dallas Farmers Market. We were there early, between 8am – 10am, so there was some beautiful light. Being that this is a photojournalism class we were supposed to take pictures of the people (and then get their information for the caption). But put me next to colorful food and that is where my lens is headed. Speaking of lenses, in these pictures I used a basic 18-55mm lens, as well as the fancy 300mm f2.8 lens. Oh and don’t worry, I got the appropriate pictures for class, as well as some shots of the city, flowers, and produce. Read More | Comments
